This book presents an introduction to Object-Oriented Design with the Unified Modelling Language and the Java Programming Language. The target audience for the book is undergraduate students in computing, computing science and software engineering. However, practising software professionals who wish to update their knowledge in this important area will also find it of value.
The text assumes no prior knowledge of object orientation on the part of the reader. However, some experience of the Java programming language is expected. The book is a basis for an academic course in which object-oriented design and the Java languageare jointly presented. Appendices F and G can be used as indicators of the level of Java programming skills required. They can also be used to add to the reader’s knowledge of Java programming
